Better Way Foundation partner City Connects was recently highlighted in a Huffington Post piece titled “Deserving of Celebration: Public Education Done Right,” as an effective model for education. The Boston-based organization connects community assets with each student’s individual needs, and has resulted in better academic performance. By changing the way school counselors, social workers and other support staff meet the needs of students, starting in kindergarten, City Connects has significantly improved students’ academic performance. The rigorous research that City Connects has conducted over the past decade has focused on establishing a base of evidence demonstrating that children who attended elementary schools with City Connects have lower rates of high school dropout, chronic absenteeism and being held back compared to students in non-City Connects schools.
Better Way Foundation is proud to be partnering with a leader in academic innovation.
