Deadline: March 25, 2019
Applicant Informational Webinar: Tuesday, February 26th, 2019 at 11:00 am CST
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, Better Way Foundation and the Casey Family Programs announce the establishment of the Healthy Children Healthy Nations Fund, devoted to helping young Native children thrive in both reservation and urban settings in Minnesota. The HCHN Fund will award grants to tribal governments and Native nonprofits to support the innovation and expansion of early childhood development, nutrition and programs serving the health and wellness of families of Native children 0-6 years of age in Minnesota’s Native urban, reservation and rural communities.
The HCHN Fund is accepting grant applications at https://spmcf.submittable.com/submit now through March 25, 2019 at 3pm CST. We invite you to apply for one or both grant programs:
- Core operations improvements grants (Up to $25,000; 12 months): For tribes and organizations whose existing work clearly aligns with the goals of the initiative and who need additional support to help advance or catalyze a specific element of their promising work. These one-year grants provide flexible funding and capacity building to help boost Native organizations beyond a project-by-project focus.
- Planning grants (Up to $25,000; up to 6 months): For tribes and organizations whose existing work clearly aligns with the goals of the initiative and would like to develop, expand or explore new strategies to increase the impact of their work. These 6 month grants will provide resources to think strategically, convene stakeholders, and produce a plan for a new project or program.
Organizations may apply for both a core operations improvements and a planning grant. However, there is a strong likelihood only one grant will be approved.
