Brian Collier

Brian Collier teaches American Indian history and the history of education at the University of Notre Dame, where he is a member of the graduate faculty for the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) and a fellow in the Institute for Educational Initiatives. Collier also serves as coordinator of supervision and instruction with ACE.
 
Collier has edited a book on American education reform and penned articles on Native American communities and the Harlem Globetrotters. He is currently working on a book about St. Catherine Indian School. Collier started his career as a teacher at St. Catherine Indian School in Santa Fe, N.M., where he taught classes in United States history and English.
 
Collier earned a Ph.D. in American Indian history at Arizona State University, focusing Catholic Indian schools and the history of education, particularly in the American West. He earned a master’s degree from Colorado State University and a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago.
