Catholic Relief Services – Lesotho

Better Way Foundation partners with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) to fund the Whose Child Is This? project, an innovative project implemented with three other partners, the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace, the Good Shepherd Sisters, and the Sisters of Charity. In the project’s third year, CRS and partners continue to expand the reach and quality of Integrated Early Childhood Care and Development Program (IECCD) services, ensure better inclusion of children with disabilities, continue strengthening project documentation and learning, and share learning with key stakeholders including the Ministry of Education and Training.

A total of 3355 individuals directly participate in and benefit from the project: 1576 children ages 0-5; 1311 parents and family caregivers; 385 community members who have direct community involvement in IECCD activities; 48 educators and 35 community health workers.

Whose Child is This? serves 48 rural communities across three under-served districts in Lesotho: Leribe in the lowlands, and Thaba Tseka in the mountains, and Mohale’s Hoek in the Senqu River Valley.
