BROWNING, MT
De La Salle Blackfeet School is committed to providing a quality, innovative and faith-based education to empower its students to become successful learners and able participants in the shaping of their community. De La Salle Blackfeet School is a Lasallian San Miguel school dedicated to creating an environment that recognizes the reality of God’s living presence and nurtures the dignity of each student within a supportive community of teachers, parents, and guardians. They aim to develop individuals who are: Their innovative, student centered curriculum uses culturally sensitive methods to nurture each student’s imagination and creativity while challenging them to develop critical thinking and academic skills in the areas of reading, writing, and math. Classes are kept small: a maximum of 16 students. They provide an extended day from 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM with plenty of experiential enrichment and sports activities. They use OBEE’s (Out of Building Educational Experience!) and a weekly Blackfeet Studies class to impart to students a strong sense of their cultural heritage. Current Better Way Foundation funding supports a graduate support program which offers academic, emotional, and spiritual support to all alumni. The program presents an open door policy and fosters communication among students, staff and parents to create a strong network of resources for the students in order to support all students and alumni in achieving success in all levels of education in their lives. The Foundation is also supporting a Grief and Loss Counseling Program. |
