The School Readiness Collaborative of Old North Dayton
The University of Dayton recognized a great need in the Old North Dayton neighborhood to better prepare very young children for kindergarten. They developed a community-based partnership known as the School Readiness Collaborative of Old North Dayton, designed to improve kindergarten readiness in Old North Dayton by strengthening the quality of early childhood educational opportunities, developing a more seamless transition for children moving into kindergarten, and empowering parents for engagement and involvement in the neighborhood.
The collaborative has developed a diverse membership of those working and living in the Old North Dayton community, the broader Catholic urban community, and individuals and organizations supporting children and school readiness, parents, child care centers and home providers, public and Catholic school Kindergarten-3rd grade educators.
